It is a great honor to welcome to the first autonomous Social Work College in the Central India. It is also a matter of pride for me to be associated with Tirpude College of Social Work, Nagpur as an alumnus and now as a faculty. It is indeed a privilege to share its glorious history of more than five decades with the stakeholders.
Tirpude College of Social Work, Nagpur, a NAAC accredited ‘A+’ Grade Institution, has always maintained its status as a pioneer institution in social work education since its inception in 1966. The college has been recognized with A grades twice and with ‘A+’ in the third cycle of NAAC. Its has also added another dimension to its rich profile with conferment of fresh Autonomous Institution status by the UGC, New Delhi and RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur from the session 2019-20. Thus, the college has become the first Autonomous Social work College in not only the RTM Nagpur University, but the whole of central India The college has also been conferred with status of College With Potential For Excellence recently. . We look forward to this opportunity as an important step in taking social work education to new heights.
The college is operating under auspices of Yugantar Education Society founded by former deputy chief minister of Maharashtra Late Shri Nasikrao Tirpude. Inspired by an idea to provide quality education to the deprived classes in the society, Late Shri Nasikrao Tirpude was instrumental in giving a new dimension to professional social work education.
The college is also proud to have received blessings all through these years from eminent personalities like Social Activist Mr.Anna Hajare, Waterman of India Mr. Rajendra Singh, Mrs. Medha Patkar, Mr. Devaji Tofa etc.
Over a period of five decades the college has identified its commitments to the society and kept on enriching quality of the education to the benefit of the stakeholders and will continue to be with you all in the journey of progress and development.
